Arjay Opprecht

Arjay Opprecht lives in the Louisiana swamp, amid a flock of creative humans (and ghosts), in the historic trading center of Bulbancha. His current influences include Mark Strand, Natasha Sajé, Paisley Rekdal, Wallace Stevens and Basho. He often indulges in street poetry for pittances, mainly for that real-time intimacy that isn’t easy to come by in the literary world. He is author of the play, Dos Coyotes and the satirical nonfiction Billionaires’ Manifesto. Opprecht’s poems have been published in Exile, The Free Agent, The Highwaymen Journal, and The Plaza (in English and in translation), among others. Many of his street poems and works in progress are on his IG @kopprecht. His “normal” website is KurtOpprecht.com.
