Gurney wheels squeak. Rolling into a shiny, white room, glinting scopes and hardware, knobs, levers, and wires. Flipping on my back, IV’ed, masked up, the anesthetist turns a red faucet knob.
The girls found a floating longan tree at Kheam Hock Park. It had no roots, just a trunk that stopped a metre above the ground.
